Latest Updates

Version 1.35 of GReader Notifier Now Available

A new version of the GReader Notifier Android application is now available in the Android Market.  This version requires that you have at least Android 1.5.  It should work in Android 1.6, but I don't have it yet, so I don't know.

If you have any trouble upgrading and don't want to wait for me to fix the problem, just uninstall, then reinstall the application.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

Recently the T-Mobile G1, Android v1.0, and the Android Market were unleashed upon the world.  I was lucky enough to get the G1 the first day it was sold in T-Mobile stores.  It is a great phone and mobile platform.

After using it for a while, I realized that I wanted to move to a totally mobile online lifestyle.  This means not relying on Microsoft Outlook or checking web sites for common things like email, IM, and RSS feeds.  Android and the G1 make it quite easy and enjoyable to have a totally mobile online lifestyle, with one notable exception: no feed notifications for Google Reader.

Version 1.30 of GReader Notifier Now Available

A new version of the GReader Notifier Android application is now available in the Android Market.  This new version requires Android 1.5, so if you have not received that update, it will not work.

Changes Between 1.2.0 and 1.3.0

  • Fixed preferences so they do not get reset
  • Now opens Google Reader page in its own browser, so new windows will NOT be created.

Top 10 Charities

Below are some of the charities and non-profit organizations that I support.  I HIGHLY recommend guaranteeing a percentage of your income to give to non-profit organizations like the ones below.  Not only does it feel good and give you a big tax deduction each year, a strong and healthy community depends upon it's members doing so.

American Whitewater

Keeps the United States' rivers and creeks free of polution and open to the public.

Android Time Picker Preference

When developing applications for Google Android, there's a great way to implement your preferences using an xml, much like you would for a regular layout. The added benifit of doing it this way is that you don't have to implement how the preference values are saved. However, one of the problems is that there are only a couple of preference types implemented.
